WHY DID YOU START DOING THIS?

We formed this organization to help the students. Many school administrators were starting to make their school board choose the songs that were going to be played at dances. This is a HUGE problem! Students don't want to dance to music that people their parents' age like. They want to dance to music that is on the radio now. By creating a list of the dirty songs that are on the radio, this allows DJ companies to continue to play new music that students want, while skipping over those songs with questionable content that we list on the No-Play List! It's a Win-Win for your administrators, students, parents and DJs!

WHY ARE YOU TAKING AWAY GOOD SONGS FROM OUR DANCES?

Woah! We're not taking away all of the good songs from your dances! We agree that many of the songs on our No-Play List are good dancing songs with a good beat and catchy lyrics...however these songs are too dirty to be played in a school setting because of foul language, sexual content or violence. When you look at all the songs that are released each month on radio stations across the country only a handful of songs are added to the No-Play List.

WHAT SONGS ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DANCE TO NOW?

There are hundreds of thousands of songs that are not on the No-Play List. Great songs like Don't Stop The Music by Rihanna, Sean Kingston's Take You There are NOT on our list. Music from Fergie, Timbaland, Miley Cyrus, Chris Brown, Webbie, Baby Bash, and SO MANY MORE are still available to be played!! If you are looking to find out what songs are popular right now, you can visit the Billboard Music Website and look at all the songs that are hot right now. Then compare that list to the No-Play List and you'll see that many songs that are popular right now are not on the No-Play List. Go ahead and look for yourself! GOOD MUSIC CAN STILL BE PLAYED IN YOUR SCHOOL... We're only elimating the dirty songs. Yes, we agree that some of the dirty songs are GOOD dancing songs with a great beat, but they shouldn't be played in a school setting.

HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHAT SONGS GO ON THE LIST?

The DJ Advisory Network from DJ4U Corp. was developed by a DJ company to help other DJ companies! Each month, new songs come out on the radio and start becoming popular with students. Our network listens to each song (the radio versions) that comes our way and evaluate it based on it's level of vulgar language and bad words, sexual content, slang terms and innuendos, and on how much violence is in the song. If the song is deemed to be too dirty, we place it on the No-Play List and suggest that schools and DJs avoid playing the song. After a song is placed on the No-Play List, we assign it a school rating of Red or Yellow. Red means that ths song is vulgar enough that it shouldn't be played in any K-12 school setting, while Yellow means that the song is innappropriate for play in grade schools and middle schools, but may be ok to play in some high school settings.

I WANT TO ADD OR REMOVE A SONG FROM THE LIST...

Great! We are always looking for input from professionals in the entertainment industry, school teachers and administrators, and even students from across the nation. If you would like to add or remove a song from the No-Play List, all you need to do is contact us and let us know what song you have issues with. After you submit your entry, we will review the song and decide if it should be added or removed from the list. Thanks for wanting to help!

WHO SAYS WE HAVE TO FOLLOW WHAT YOUR LIST SAYS?

You Don't! Our list is just a free public service to schools and others who want to have clean fun at school functions. We aren't making anyone subscribe to the list, or even use the list. (although we highly recommend it) The song selections that make it to the list are the opinion of the DJ Advisory Network for Content Evaluation Board.
